Passings & New Beginnings…..
In 1992 we lived in North Carolina, stationed out of Ft. Bragg, & the kids were old enough we thought we’d get them a puppy. There was a local shelter there & we got a 5 month old puppy that had been abused named Ginger. Well she was a runner! Anytime that dog saw daylight she was off & running! She’d come back, but not because you called her. She came back when SHE wanted to. The past coupld of months she’s been slowing down & started having mini strokes. We called her lefty for about a month til her tilt went away. Then she had another one about two weeks ago now. Her eyes were still shifting going on 48 hours after, so we took her to the vet & she said it was time for her to have a rest. We were good for about a week, but you can tell when something is gone that has been there a long time. We knew we coulnd’t replace her, so we set out with just the idea of looking. Yeah, uh huh! lol We are now proudly owned by a 4 year old husky/sheppard mix. One blue eye, one quarter blue eye. lol She’s kinda cute & her name is Nikita. We made her an album & are in the process of filling it up. She loves the olders & the youngers & just leans into you & sighs like “Thanks for bringing me home guys!” She’s well mannered, housebroke, doesn’t chew, patrols the house & wants to taste the cats. Of course they object strenuously to that request, but she hasn’t given up yet. It’s only been a week! lol
